IT'S A COMPETITION !

 

WHAT  IS  IT:   This is a Competition, conducted under a set of rules  for the CRICKET LOVING VISITORS joining us during the England Cricket Tour of Sri Lanka during the (November - December) 2003 period.

ITS OBJECTIVES:   You  are encouraged to be seeking information,  instead of being tested.   Everything you need to know to answer, is available on this website.   Hence PART - A follows a Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) style.

PLEASE NOTE:   Sri Lanka was admitted a Full Member of the ICC in 1981. All Questions in PART - A are based on TEST MATCHES played by England against Sri Lanka "in Sri Lanka", on all  tours made by England to this island, after this date.

THE TEN RULES:   

(1).   All participants shall accept and respect these rules.                

(2).   PART - A.      

There are EIGHT QUESTIONS, marked as  (1),  (2), ........... (7), (8). Each Question will have a Stem and Attach four responses, indicated as  (A), (B), (C) and (D).  Any or All of these, could be either TRUE (T) or FALSE (F).

Mark the respective Question Number as 1, 2, 3, ...........7, 8.

Mark each response as True or False with either a (T) or a (F),  for each question.

Hence each question will have an answer of the type TTFF or FTTT or similar pattern, with Four letters.

Your answer sheet on completion, will resemble something like:

 (1). TTFF   (2). FTTT   (3). FFFF  (4) TTTT   (5) TFTF, ...... pattern.

          PART - B.          

There are TWO Questions, marked as (9)  and  (10).  Direct short answers, specific to the question, are expected here.

(3).     Answers should be typed or hand written, on one side of paper.

(4).     Each answer sheet should also provide following information, IN CAPITALS.

          4.1   Full Name of the Participant,  IN CAPITALS,  please. 

          4.2   Postal Address and Telephone Number, in your Country of Residence.

          4.3   Contact E - Mail address. ( Winners will be notified by E Mail ).

          4.4   Dates of your stay in Sri Lanka. (From:  .....  To: .......)  and

Details on how / where to contact you when you are in Sri Lanka.

4.5   Your Passport Number. (As proof of identity of the Winners)

          4.6   Your full signature.    

          4.7    Date of posting your answers.

 

(5).     Duly completed answer sheets must then be " AIR MAILED ",  to reach the following address,  NOT LATER THAN  FRIDAY 12th DECEMBER 2003.

(6).   All entries received by us after this DEAD LINE, will be rejected.

         We shall not hold responsible for lost mail.

(7).   All correct entries confirming to (5) and (6) above, will be subjected to a

'Draw' by an Official from the British High Commission in Sri Lanka, to pick

THREE WINNERS.                                 

In the absence of any 'all correct entries', the next best entry / entries will be placed for the draw.

(8).  Soon after the draw, the Three Winners will be informed by E Mail.

Names of those with "ALL CORRECT ENTRIES", will be posted on this Web Site.

 (9).        PRIZES:   Ah...........hhh!    That s  secret.    But it shall be a pleasant one for the  THREE WINNERS selected as (7) above, during their stay in Sri Lanka.

(10).    Our decision(s) with respect to application, interpretation and adherence to criteria specified or any others not specified above, shall be final and abiding.

QUESTION NO: (1)
